The mailroom launches touchless Z-Boxes.

By the end of the year there will be 150 of them in the Czech Republic.

The leading Czech logistics platform, Zásilkovna, plans to add another 150 to its 3,650 outlets. And these will be unique locations - they will take the form of so-called Z-Boxes, i.e. self-service boxes that are operated via the mobile application of Zásilkovna.

The boxes, in which Zásilkovna has invested tens of millions of crowns, are also fully self-sufficient. The boxes need a minimum of energy to operate, which they will receive from ecological solar panels.

"This opens up a huge opportunity for us to deliver parcels to places where others do not want to, cannot or limit their services. These are smaller towns and villages, for example," says the founder of Zásilkovna.

By introducing Z-Boxes, Zásilkovna is reacting to the limitations of the Czech Post, which often closes its branches in smaller towns and villages. Z-Boxes are also ideal for residential or commercial development projects, shopping centres or car parks.

The boxes will be open 24 hours a day and to open them and pick up a parcel, you will need to have the Zásilkovna app installed and turn on Bluetooth on your device to pair and unlock the box. The price for delivery to the box will be the same as any other delivery point of the Zásilkovna.
